Joan Brooks, CPA
Joan M Brooks is a tax partner in the Hobbs, New Mexico office of Johnson, Miller & Co. She graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron NE in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, and became a CPA in 1983.
Joan Brooks worked for a certified public accounting firm in Gering Nebraska that primarily serviced agriculture clients. She joined Johnson, Miller & Co in 1982, and for the past several years has been involved in staff hiring, and training. She has 27 years of experience in accounting and taxation including corporate, partnership, individual, trust and estate, and oil and gas taxation. She became an accredited petroleum accountant after passing the exam in 1997.
Joan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society of New Mexico, and is serving as Secretary on the board of directors for the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society.
